Emily Irene VanCamp was originally keen on becoming a professional dancer, but following a trip to her sister Katie's set on Ladies Room, she became more inclined to act. Her acting career began when she began taking classes. In addition, she was offered the opportunity to appear in shows from her home country of Canada. She's appeared on a variety of shows, including Are You Afraid Of The Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp made a significant career breakthrough when he was chosen to play Sam Dolan in WB's horror mystery series Glory Days. Though receiving positive reviews this show's poor rating ultimately caused it to be canceled after only nine episodes. In spite of her May 12th, 1986 birth date she was offered a role on Everwood on its set as Amy Abbott. It was for this role that she was nominated by the Young Artist Award, and she also won four Teen Choice Awards.
